This Privacy Policy describes how LAIT911 collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information in connection with the LAIT911 mobile applications available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, as well as the web-based application accessible at https://app.lait911.org (collectively, the “App”).
The App is operated by Southern California Wildfire Response (“SCWR,” “LAIT911,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- The LAIT911 iOS application
- The LAIT911 Android application
- The LAIT911 web application at app.lait911.org
This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, services, or platforms linked from the App.

We collect information in the following categories:

You may provide personal information when you:
- Create or manage an account
- Subscribe to paid services
- Contact us
- Submit reports, comments, images, or other content

- Phone number
- Home ZIP code
- Username

b. Location Information
The App collects real-time and background location data.
- Location access is required for core App functionality
- Location data is used for situational awareness, alerting, and service operation
- Location data is not visible to other users or the public
- Historical location data is not retained beyond operational necessity
If you disable location permissions, portions of the App may not function correctly.
c. Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, we may automatically collect:
- IP address
- Device identifiers
- Device type and operating system
- App usage data
- Crash logs and error diagnostics
- Timestamps and interaction data
This information may be combined with other data to support security, analytics, and service reliability.
d. User-Generated Content
User-generated content (“User Content”) includes reports, comments, images, or other materials submitted through the App.
- Usernames are publicly visible when content is published
- Metadata (such as IP address, precise location, or device identifiers) is not publicly displayed
- Once published, User Content may be accessed, copied, archived, or redistributed by third parties beyond our control
User Content is not deleted, including after account termination, unless required by law.
3. How We Use Information
We collect and use information for purposes including:
- Operating and maintaining the App
- Providing situational awareness features
- Enabling alerts and notifications
- Managing subscriptions and accounts
- Communicating with users
- Monitoring usage, performance, and security
- Preventing fraud, abuse, and misuse
- Complying with legal obligations
- Supporting public safety and operational integrity
We do not use personal information for 3rd party advertising.
4. Legal Basis and Legitimate Use
We collect and process personal information only where reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the App and its features

We may disclose personal information to:

b. Payment Processing

- Apple App Store

LAIT911 does not store full credit card numbers or payment credentials.

User Content is retained indefinitely unless removal is legally required.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of certain personal information (subject to legal and operational limits)

11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Signals
The App does not respond to browser-based “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in operations, technology, or legal requirements.
Updates will be posted within the App or on the App’s website. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
